My Griggs coilover install

First off, the pictures aren't that great, so you'll have to use your imagination for certain parts.
I purchased Griggs Racing coil-overs (350# springs) with Koni Double Adjustable struts for the front of my 96 GT. I will purchase the DA kit for the rear in a few weeks. While I was in there, I also replaced my front lower control arms with newer 03 cobra front lower control arms. The process was pretty easy (and was made much easier with a lift). The only places that gave us any trouble were removing the bolts on the k member for the lower control arms (we had to move the rack aside). Also, you're going to want to hit those bolts with some PB blaster as they were a little tough to get going. Secondly, I would highly recommend using some sort of compressed air tool to separate the spindles from the old lower control arms. The only other inconvenience was trying to find somewhere to put the calipers. Since you're removing everything you could hang them on, we found they fit nicely in the little alcove behind the struts (see picture). Other than that, the install was pretty straight-forward; remove and replace parts as you see fit.

Driving impressions? Don't really have any at this point. The install was wrapped up late last night, so driving was limited. I was also experiencing some ABS problems, so I didn't really feel it out. Will be able to update with driving impressions in a few weeks. The car is probably at the ride height (in the front) where it will stay for street use, and I'll probably raise it up a little for the track. I'm running a 265/35/18 on an 18x9 up front and I've easily got room for 275s, so I'll probably buy a set of either 17x9 or 17x10 wheels for track only.
If you have any questions, ask away...I'll try to answer them as best I can.

Pretty snazzy, man. What spring rate did you order for the rear?

Here are pics of my CoilOver setup. Maximum Motorsports

I wasn't involved in the choosing process for the fronts; I told Bruce what I wanted to do and he chose for me. When I order the rears I'll probably do the same thing. The car is not my daily driver, so as long as the rates work the track I could care less how it feels on the street.

350 is pretty stiff, but not the end of the world. You should be fine with that. If I recall correctly, Jeff (Dalamar) has 350 hypercoil as well, and he does not complain about it. Mine is a 275, only because I don't coilover rear, and to keep it ballanced I can only go that high. Rear is H&R Super Race, which is as stiff as it will get for off the shelf spring.

Just make sure the kit you buy specifys it. i do know that the MMR coil overs will work with lake woods, as will D&D.

focks, go buy the griggs super street pack. It's about 3400 for my car but it's got TA, PHB, Coilovers, full deal. It'll be one bad car with the entire kit
