I know fox bodies have the quad shock. Did he maybe remove it or something? If so, tell him to install new ones and the wheel hop will go away.

Quad's were added later in the run, and they are there to help with wheel hop.

At this point, it's just as cost efficient to get a good set of LCA's

he has LCA's, because he went through and checked the pinion angle, replaced the shocks and bought the summit brand LCA's. the wheel hop started after he swapped a 7.5 open dif, to a 8.8 posi with 3.73's and I am pretty sure his never had quad shocks because the old 7.5 didnt have any mounts for them like the 8.8 does

They were added in 86 or 86. He's still not getting traction, he'll just have to play with it, I doubt quads are the answer, but worth a shot.

If he has spent the money on the swap why not get a torque arm?

The torque arm is a little costly and a bit difficult to install but, it would positively locate the axle and terminate any wheel hop.
