I've seen NT-05s at the track. Someone was testing a pre production model. They did well, no chunking even at full tread. Another tire you might wanna look into is the Kumho XS. Recently there has been an explosion of the AutoX class tires, between RT615 from Falken, NT-05 from Nitto, Excta XS from Kumho, and RE-01 from Brindgestone. All very nice tires, so it all comes down to which one you can get for less. Falkens still get a bit greasy too fast from what I've heard though.

I am thinking about getting these but what I question is how much better traction to we think they will have compared to the NT555s? From what I have read they seem to be a happy medium between the NT555 and NT555R.

What are yalls thoughts?

The treadwear is 200 compared to the drag radials 100 and the NT555s 300. So i would assume they are soft tires.

Well I did some research on these tires and the prices are not that outrageous as we thought. For the 275/40/17 you are looking at $159 from Discount Tire and the 315/35/17 you are looking at $218.00 I believe from discount.

Alot of people have been testing them on the road course and are very shocked at the performance they have put out.

The only concern I have is the life of the tire and the sales rep over on SVT Perf. says that from what he has seen you can probably get between the tread life of the NT555R and the NT555.

I am about 70/30 on considering this to be my next rear tires in about a month or so. I am looking into these for better traction on the street without having to run a drag radial. My NT555s currently hook very well but I would love to have some more grip and not lose any wet traction capability.

One thing that all the road racers did complement on over and over was the road noise. They said that the tires were probably the quietest great performing tire they have ever heard.

Hope this helps some of yall.
