Just wondering if anyone has cut the stock springs and if so, how much do you cut to achieve 1" - 1.5" drop in the back and 1.5 in the front. I can get a good deal on a full kit from work but I also want to get my cowl hood painted so I thought I'd do the hood first and cheap out on lowering it for now. My GF owes like $1500 for income tax so times are tough so I cant afford to do both.

On my 94 I cut 1.5 coil on the front and 2 coils on the back. My car is very low, hard on the 315's on the back. If I could turn the clock back I would cut 1 coil of the front and 1.5 on the back.

You will sacrifice ride quality if you are worry about it but, if i were you i would just buy used springs or even cheap ones from ebay before i even cut stock springs IMO.

you can get a goo set of used springs for less than $130 if you look around.
