looking to get some 18x10 or 18x10.5 saleens with 315x35x18 tires on either wheel width. was wondering if anyone has run either combo and how low i would be able to lower my 'stang with that width, trying to get a little over 2 1/2 inch drop with h&r springs, no iso's, caster camber plates and a bump steer. really don't want to have to roll my fender or beat in the inside of my wheel well. trying to keep everything i do reversible. any comments would be appriciated, thanks.

edit* afterthought, on a second note does it make a difference at all to the contact patch between 18x10 and 18x10.5 wheels if i put 315 tire width on either one? e.i. would 10.5" wheels with 315 tires be any wider on the ground than 10" wheels with 315 tires? thanks everyone

10.5 " rims don't need more than a 305mm wide tire. (305mm/25.4 = 12.00") That puts your total sidewall width at 1.5" wider than the rim. That is about optimal for good handling. 315's really need an 11" rim.

Just my 2 cents.....

lots and lots of people run 315s on 18x10 wheels, we've even seen 335s on an 18x10. Its a little overkill but do it if you want it, it looks sick.

I have 285/35 on my 18x10's, I plan on moving up to Nittos Invo (or BFG KDW NT) 295/35. The 285's are just shy of being flush with the rims and I want the tires and rims to sit flush. Anything above 295 gets really expensive, 295 still has quality tires that perform great and still be affordable.

also just for the record it should be 315/30-18, 35 profile will give you a tire that's a bit on the tall side.

What type of tire are you looking for? All season, extreme/max summer, touring, drag radial? Once you hit a certain size it becomes extreme summer and drag radial, both suck in rainy/snowy areas.

yeah someone pointed out 295 is about as big as you can go and have tire options. i definately need all seasons, it's for a daily driver. drag radials are bad ass but i wouldn't be comfortable driving in bad weather with them and the tread millage life seems fairly short from what i've heard

thanks a lot for the link, seriously. i've had a tough time finding 295's. is that about as a good of a price as i could get 295's for? i don't mind road noise, cheap is key really
