My rear swaybar just broke on my car, and I want to know if it will harm anything if I run the car with out it?

No, but the performance loss will definitely be noticeable. You're running aftermarket control arms, aren't you?

Wow, never heard of stock rear lowers snapping the bar. Did it break by the bolt mounting points or in the middle?

My bar broke broke around where the bolt goes into the control arm. The biggest problem with out bars is that it relies on resistance through other control arm, and strength of the bar itself, rather than being attached to chassis and using end-links. Since the the anti-roll bar is drilled right through the mounting location, it loses a lot of strength where it needs it most, despite the extra material on the sides.

It broke right behind the bolt mounting point on the right side, would you get a new oem one or a after market one?

Go to junk yard, and find a stock one. All GT bars from 94 to 98 are all the same. When mine broke, that's what I did. Set me back 12 dollars.

sway bars arent a necessity unless you drive above high speeds and through curves. when mine broke steeda told me to stay off highways.
