In my g/f's 97' V6, something in the front drivers side is squeaking, could it be the shock, spring, or something else? Thanks in advance!

Re: Something squeaking?

I noticed it when I was driving through a parking lot, every LITTLE bump it did it. I dont think it matters how fast I'm going.

So it's not the springs? That makes me feel a little better.

might also be the sway bar bushings. they looked pretty dry and worn. Try some wd-40 and shoot in those and see if they stop.

WD can deteriorate the bushings. Use quality grease. Looks like you just have a good case of worn out bushings and isolators. It's time to just throw some new sway bar bushings, and possibly ball joints. However those generally can only be determined by actual playing with them with the car right there in front of you. If its either:

Spring isolator, pretty common.
Strut bushings, also very common, however most of the forum chunks those for sake of CC plates.
Could even possibly be the ball joint on its way out.

The one thing you can do is go through and grease the hell out of all of the joints. Just do one particular bushing set, then see if you can replicate the sound, if you do, then you know thats not it. Good luck.

I just greased the sway bar bushing and the lower ball joint. So far it hasn't squeaked so it may have fixed it for now, I'm going to replace the lower ball joint and the sway bar bushings.

I've never takin off the sway bar unfortunately, how hard is it to remove it and replace the bushings?

Very easy. Just take the links loose on the control arms first, then drop it down.
