widest wheel that a 245/45/R17 tire will fit???

as the topic states what is the widest sheels that my 245/45/R17 Bridgestone Potenza's fit on. the other night i had an accident and now BOTH my left side rims are F**KED! the tires only hav 10k miles on them. they look pretty much brand new. and i was wanting to buy new rims and put the tires on them. they were on 17x8s. but jw if they wud fit on 17x9s? thanx 4 ne help guys!

8" wheels, possibly 8.5". call tirerack and ask them for sure.

I think it would fit, but it would be kinda stretched. 245 is ideal for 8" wheel though.

so does ne1 have ne pix of a 245/45/R17 tire on a 17x9 wheel?

it will fit just fine but why if you have a 9" rim would you want to not put a 265 or 275 on it ?

I use a 245/45/17 on a 17x9 in the front. Works fine

because ive got 4 245/45/R17 Bridgestone Potenzas with just under 10k on them. look nearly new. why go buy new tires? lol. whole reason im buying them is because last friday night i had a incident where i hit an island @ 60mph! so i have 2 good wheels and 2 bad now. idk what im going to do with the 2 good ones

2 good wheels=mount drag radials.

not even gonna think about spending $ 4 drag radials when i dont have a "solid" job @ the moment. and i think that overkill and wasted money on a basically stock 98GT. but ive ordered some 17x9 deep dish 10th anniversary wheels from finishlinewheels.com shud b here in a few days. got 4 of them on sale 4 about $600 shipping ncluded. black with polished lip. theyve got a bunch of nice mustang wheels on sale right now if ne1s nterested. look nice!

I've seen 245s on a 9" rim before, they fit but you can tell its stretched.

well theyr gonna b put on there. my new rims shud b here n a few days or so @ the soonest. 245s WILL b going on the new 17x9s.

well i HOPEFULLY will b going 2morro 2 get my tires put onto the new rims that came n yesterday. got 2 see the rims 2day and they look pretty good. hopefully everything goes ok and works. just worried that the fronts going 2 rub. i check the clearance earlier and the fronts might rub and the rears are good 2 go tho. ne1 kno if their 17x9s on the front of the sn95 runs ne?

good chance it wont with that skinny tire...
