I have a problem. i have some nt555 255/40/17 on the rear. my fronts are gone. so i will be rotating them to the front and putting 275/40/17 on the rear. this is where the problem starts:

Car is a 95 GT
go to the tire place. the 255's are to big for the front. seems odd to me since i hear of some people running 275 up front. went to Nubbe motorsports and they told me to it will be a tight fit. is there anything i could do to make the 255's fit in the front. i really dont want to get rid of them, so any advice would help. if they can't fit then i'll trade for some 245's i guess

What rims are they on? Is it a backspace issue?

I have 255's on OEM bullitts and they fit fine, not a bit of rubbing

They will fit I put a 275/40 on stock Tri Bars it fit just fine. I ran a Falken Ziek 512 with very very little sidewall bulge. If there going on a 17x9 a 275 is the recommended tire size for that rim

275's on the front and rear for me and no problems at all. Need new rear tires so I might buy some 255's and switch the front and back

had he just set it on the front rim without tightening it down? if so he had it at a angle and thats why it was rubbing. Your alighnment maybe off other wise.

they are probably going by the tire fitment guides, which spec out a stock wheel/tire size. that is fine if you are running stock stuff, not so much with aftermarket.
