Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial I and II are a decent tire. What are your plans for this? Are you a Drag Racer? or just want something on the street you'll never need to worry about breaking loose in a straight line?

For the best tire life... Nitto's are hard to beat... Once they're warmed up, they hook up decently well too...

Now, since my car is done being my DD, my next set of drag radials are going to be MT ET street radials..

i have heard good things about the nitto dr. i also love the way they look. my car is mostly a street car but i wanna have more traction when i launch. right now i run nt555 245/45/r17 on all four wheels but was thinging of going to 275/40/r17 in the rears. would i run into any clearance issues with these tires?

no clearance issues at all with 275/40 on the rear, and if you're mostly stock i think the 555R's would be a good choice.

I run 275/45/17 on the front of my car so I don't see why you would have any problems running them on the rear of yours.

If your car is mostly a street car and looking for a little more traction the Nitto 555Rs are a great tire. You'll need to heat them up to hook really well on them but they will last longer then the BFG & MT drag radials. They also should handle the rain better.

well yea its mostly a street car but i do like going to the drag strip ever now and then. so it looks like the Nitto 555rs are the best bang for the buck

No that usually comes with the springs that you pick... 245/45, 275/40 and 315/35 are all very close to being relatively the same size.

I say MT radials. why spend all that money for 555Rs when they wont even come close to hooking like the Street radials. I know everyone is going to say but they will only last X amount of miles, but common. You are buying a drag radial for one reason.....to hook better than a street tire.

+1 all those tires are the same height, you could get an angle buy running a shorter front tire or a taller rear tire if you really wanted.

555R's do hook better than a normal street tire, they also last a good amount of time and do well in the rain. Heat them at the track and they get pretty sticky also.

they dont hook nearly as good as the MT radials though. If you need something that will last long, I say stick to street tires. If you are looking for something to hook, go MT

Nittos can hook pretty good when you warm them up. Friend of mine runs 275/50/15 555R's on his 10.6 second fox body street car and could launch harder then other guys I know on MT's. It is also about your suspension setup. Tires alone won't make you hook, but they help.
