I was thinking about upgrading my rear calipers/rotors on my 95GT. Right now its all stock with slotted rotors. I have pbr dual piston calipers up front. I want to retain the fronts because I want to be able to put 16s on the front. The stock GT rear brakes plain and simple suck with my 18s. I was wondering how would it work out if I put cobra vented rear rotors/calipers on my car with the pbrs up front how it would work out? I know usually you'd go with cobra calipers all around but I want to use 16s up front. Any ideas?

I don't think the rear caliper itself is any different. It's just spacing, due to larger rotor.

I thought the rear rotors were the same size just the cobra is vented which I would think would make a huge difference. I'm just curious if the setup I'm talking about makes any sense. PBR's front and cobra rear.

I think the rear rotor is larger. It supposed to be vented and it's 11.65" across, rather than 10.something stock. The setup makes perfect sense, but you will not see any results unless you actually consistently track the car. Most of the work is done by the front brakes anyway, because that's where all the weight transfers when you slow down.

I am probably not going to track the car that often maybe a couple times a year at most. Its just a few times when I had to get on teh brakes the rears seem to smell burnt afterwards.

other than getting cobra brakes, you wont noticed any major difference with just changing rotor nor pads.

I would just assume that since they are vented they would cool a lot better than the gt ones and improve cooling

That's more of a pad issue. What kind of pads are you running in the rear?

For how Bogarts are made, and how soft of a metal they are, its not really worth it to street drive a wheel that costs so much money.

Will the 99-04 GT PBR setup fit under the 16's? Its an improvement over the stock 94-98 junkers.

yes it will and thats what I have up front. It all comes down to me wanting to put the stock wheels/tires on there for when I want to go out and have some fun with the car.

I can definitely relate to wanting 16's... I wish I could run 15's on mine with some big meats on the back. I like the old school look.
