Knee deep in the water some where
When I back out the driveway and turn the wheel there is a clicking noise from the right front. I jacked up the car and the right front tire has slack in it from left to right when you turn it side to side. It also has a vibration between 60 and 65 and real bad when you hit the brakes at speed unless you brake really hard. The only play I see in the front end is in the steering rack when I move the right front tire. The rod ends and ball joints appear to be fine.Is there a bushing in the rack that causes this or do I need to replace the whole rack?

Rack bushings could be shot but jack car back up and grab a pry bar and pry up on the bottom of the tire .. If there's play ur ball joint is shot

Improperly aligned front end can put added stress on balljoints, especially broken/worn out ones. That's what I was told, don't know the validity such statement.
