Currently my car is dropped with BBK 2501 springs which is suppose to be about 1.5 drop..

Im wanting to drop it about another half inch so.. can I cut the BBK springs like the stock ones? (I know its not ideal but it works)

Heres how the car sits now..

I like the stance . I don't mind cutting coils to get the stance I want

are they a standard rate spring, or a progressive rate spring?

from what i understand (and I could be WAY OFF -- so someone feel free to put me in my place)

you can cut a standard rate spring without problems, but if you cut a progressive rate spring you're messing up the functionality of the spring.

I got BBK Gripps and they are a stardard rate spring.

also, I'm with musturd. I like your stance, I just think you need to space out your rear a small bit ;)

Do you have your isos in? If so, just remove those and you'll get the drop you're looking for.

Def. pull the iso's first and see how you like it.
Pick up a pair of 1" spacers for the rear and you'll be set.

Id say pull the iso's and if you dont like it then, try to find someone to trade springs.

If theyre indeed a set of progressive rate springs, DON'T cut them. Buy what you want and sell the ones you have.

Yes, standard = specific..

I'd cut 1/2-3/4 of a coil to start and see how that looks. Remember, you can always trim a little more but you can't ever put it back!!

If you take the isolators out, don't throw them away. I took mine out and now the springs squeak. I know a lot of people that took the isolators out and never had a problem but I have to put mine back in

Did you wrap them to prevent metal on metal contact?

Lol no I've never known anyone to do that. I'm just going to cut them some more and put the isolators back in.

If you wrap them with electrical tape they don't have any more metal to metal contact, thus removing all the squeaks you hear on the road.
I've had mine removed for a couple months and I have yet to hear a sound.
