I have a 95 GT, stock-ish 5.0. Getting some new wheels and tires this week and I'm planning on doing the front brakes at the same time. Anyone have any suggestions for a "mid-grade" brake set-up? I want a nice set of brakes, but I'm not tryin to spend 2800 on some wilwood or baer brakes. More like 200-400 range. Lots of options on ebay, but I just don't know how I feel about ebay brakes..

Belber095 - Nice, let me know. Not sure if I'm doing calipers or not either yet, but I get a better pedal on the 2nd pump so I think one of the caliper pistons is hanging up.. need to pinch some lines and figure out which one.

FrankenStang - Good to know lol thanks

Ferocious - That is a great write up and a great idea! I might just have to do this. Thank you

I picked up my used 2000 Cobra R brakes for $600. They were sprayed red and a real mess, but after a couple hours cleaning and painting they came out perfect. The dates on the pictures are way off.

Just saying that you can get a good brake setup for cheap if you are willing to wait for the right seller..

Now I have the two piece rotors and this mess is after one week running track pads on the street.

3D Glasses - that would be awesome. But my pads are about 10 stops away from metal-on-metal so I need to do something pretty soon.

slotted Powerslot rotors is what I'm runnin. They are friggin awesome, I paired them up with Akebono ceramic brake pads. Very little to no dust, no squeals or noises. Good brake setup for a DD that won't break the bank.

Sounds like the power slot rotors are a great choice at this point. I am a big fan of ceramic pads for the street.

Ended up going with the 99+ gt conversion. Stops a lot better than it did before. Akebono ceramic pads and carquest premium rotors. Power slots were just out of my budget range at the moment. Got re-man calipers with mounts n hardware through car quest and I figured if I was gunna spend a saturday at the shop I should go ahead and rebuild the front end lol. New MOOG inner and outer tie rods, sway bar links & bushings. Front end feels a lot tighter now.
