so i don't know if its just me but i am having the damnedest time trying to find the exact tire set up i am looking for. while maintaining the budget i can afford.

I have 18x9 front 18x10 rear (currently from previous owner falkin azenis 265/35 front 275/35 rear) which i know the rear are way to narrow for the 10in wide rims, it has a stretched look and i don't like that at all, the fronts having a 265 are flush with the rim but i want more poke.

now unfortunately i don't have a great budget, i am trying to keep my total tire cost around $800

what i want is 275/35 front 295/35 rear. but the only thing close enough to my budget is bridgestone potenza re760 sports on tire rack are fr:$192 a tire and rear:$237

However if i go 265/35 and 285/35 then there are many more options one of which is the hrtz2 and hrtz3, i like the reviews of the hrtz3 and the price fr:$167 rear:$199.

I just don't know, i don't feel like the extra cost for slightly larger tire is worth it, plus i might run into clearance issues. but man i want my tires to have a more aggressive look. what do you guys think?

sumitomos are not high quality tires so that's why they are cheap. there is nothing wrong with a 275 on a ten inch rim, people just tend to always push the tire sizes on our cars. obviously if you want wider for the look that's cool but I'm not sure how much you'll gain going from 275 to 285 wide.

If you want wider looking tires in the rear, at least go with 295s.
And like Onyx said, Sumitumos aren't the greatest. For daily driving they're perfect, but anything other than that and tough luck.

The RE760 is an AWESOME tire for the money. On my 2002 GT they hooked very well on the street and as good as the Eagle F1's I had on previously at the track. You won't be disappointed.

You will have 20mm more tire contact, which is about the size of a quarter. You will never feel the difference.

Ok cool thanks guys, I probably will stick with 265 285 combo, it's not worth the extra cost.

I would stay away from suckittome's unless you like to drive and replacing tires. They came on a set of wheels I got on criags list so I used them. They were loose as hell so I figured it was just a harder surface that would last longer then a softer one with more traction. Nope wrong not only do they not stick but they do not last at all either.

Only good point about them is that the back tire was a 335 and it looked cool but agian didn't last long ehogh to plan some drifing.....

well now i am looking at over all cost vs. buying new rims with tire but in 17s staggered so i can have a 315 on the rear, because dam they look sexy.

basically pricing for tires for my current setup is at least $650 for cheap tires, closer to $900 for some nitto 555s.

but if i get some 17s staggered from american muscle, maybe some bullitts for 1265 and i can sell my fr500s.

what do you guys think.

RE760's are sexy tires. Pretty decent performers too. I run 275's up front and a 285 out back on my staggared saleens. No complaints. Will go up in size on the rear when these wear out though
