so i just got my upr kmember got it bolted in untorqued right now and i put the steering rack back in and on the passenger side it hits the motor mount and does not sit flush like its supposed to my ? is has anyone ran into this problem and what did you do to correct it.

It hits the plate , yea I know what ur talking about its ****ing gay I just ended up taking a bit off the rack and just the tiniest bit off the k member .

It hits the plate , yea I know what ur talking about its ****ing gay I just ended up taking a bit off the rack and just the tiniest bit off the k member .

i mean its no more than 1/4 inch at most. did you have issues with the tube a arms? what are the sleeves for do they go inside of the bolt holes and then the plastic pieces go on them too? i didnt get instructions for it. but yes the rack hitting the plate pissed me off

The sleeves go inside the bushings . I don't know if I had instructions either only for the coilovers and caster camber plates

interesting. I just installed the UPR kmember/arms in mine (4.6) with no issues

Yea dude mine does the same . You're not the only one so I fixed mine . Dropping my engine back in tomorrow .

my friend whos been helping all along stated maybe use washers to space it out without grinding anything and then have alignment shop compensate for it? i dont know if thats possible. about how much did you take off MUSTURD

i just emailed upr about it. since i wont be able to go much farther this next 2 weeks {vacation} im going to see what they say although i most likely will grind for clearance.

Today when I put my engine I ended up making some spacers on the drill press that pushed the rack forward enough to clear the motor mount plates now the tie rods sit way more in line as well . To do it how I did it you would need different rack bushings mine have flat level face on them .

Yea you can do that I did it as well but after looking how the tie rods sit in line with the spindles I wasn't happy so I spaced it out
