Ok so im in the works of planning an awesome build! But I cant find anybody with the stance im going for that I can talk to about (springs, tire size, wheel spacers and so on.) Im for sure going 18x9/18x10 FR500. I want huge rubber in the back and a lowered agressive stance im just struggling to get for sure answers on how to get it. I have one photo of a car on american muscle that sits just the way I like it. So my main question is can any of you 94-98 owners running 18in staggered fr500 post some pics of your setup and tell me what your running so I can have a better idea of what I need? This is the pic of the car that has the stance I crave. He never posted any pics anywhere else on the site so I could find out how far he dropped it and what tire sizes he's running.

Its the purple one parked in the street next the photo of the blue new edge.

Eibach sportlines with no isolators, 18x10 with a one inch spacer, and a 305/30/18 or 295/35/18 will get you sitting right.

Stock springs with 1.5 coils cut in the front and 1 coil in the rear. 245/40/18 in the front and 275/35/18 in the rear. 18x9s and 10s. I plan on bringing the rear down some more.

that purple car is pretty low, I'm not sure you'll get that unless you cut springs or do coilovers.

thanks for the replies guys. You think he's running a 2in drop? i just whish i knew what size tires he's running it looks so clean!

Clean Stang man. Sorry dumb question but when you say 1.5 coils you mean it dropped your front end 1.5in?

That purple car is dropped a little more than 2".
And 1.5 coils doesn't mean 1.5". It's a little more than that in inches.

If you want that stance get coilovers. You cant go wrong since theyre adjustable.

I was in the same boat with wanting a low stance so I finally went with coilovers. Not FR500 wheels but they're still 18x9/10. This is about 3" drop in the front.

yay onyx is posting his car :D

anyways, the closest you'll get with aftermarket springs will probably be H&R SS springs. they're the lowest i've seen without cutting.

Agreed with many that coil overs are your best bet OR bag it like Tony & ttocs. The way I did it is coilovers up front and the adjustable rear control arms for the back.

I don't have any real good picture of mine with the perches lowered in the back but hopefully you get an idea

Edit: I went out and tried to take better ones:

Yeah coilovers in the front and weight jackers in the rear is the best way to go for stance. My coilovers I had in the rear wouldn't go very low.

Yeah i was so excited when I got my coilovers cause that meant i could actually use my adjustable lower control arms without making the car look stupid lol.

Steve that's pretty low in the rear, what size tire and do you have any rubbing? I get some around hard left turns at the right rear...

I vote for H&R Super Sports. They're the lowest I would go without modifying the underside of your car, otherwise you're going to be dragging on every little bump. Plus theyre progressive rate springs so they improve ride quality compared to constant rate springs lowering springs, which are basically just shorter and stiffer stock springs.

I dont really mind being super low. My buddy has a beastly 91 civic hatch thats SUPER low i mean the tires almost rub and he does fine he's just careful. I mean his car is lower then id ever drop my car but yeah i feel you. Thanks to you guys i have a good idea of what i want now. im for sure going to have to find some coilovers. I really like tein universals they make such good product but the thought of putting something japanese on my mustang is a bit iffy for me i just really like their electronic adjusting system they have its super user friendly and i could just sit there and play with it until i get my stance im really feeling a 315 in the rear. but dang idk if thats too big but that purple sn i posted the link to looks to have big rubber in the back. maybe a 305 or 295.

Pretty much any spring out there will still give you a TON of ground clearance. I have the Sportlines, no iso's, and a 165/80 up front that drops the front almost a full inch by itself. No rubbing/scraping/problems here... ever. I've never scraped except for once across a 4 inch tall speed bump at school.
