i want to turn the motor over by hand to get it at TDC. are the threads on the very front pulley reverse? (basically, should i turn the motor over clockwise, or counter clockwise.)

also, i drained the oil last night and there was probably only a Qt. or so...... . .. im a little nervous that it has a seized motor...

i dont know why the junk yard would drain the oil, but the car was clearly in a wreck and that why it was totalled... ... so i just dont know how to make heads-or-tails of the oil amount in there.... so turning it over by hand will let me know if its siezed, as well.

thanks all.

Wrecking yards drain ALL (fuel, transmission, engine oil, coolant , etc) fluids for safety and environmental reasons. How much of it they totally drain depends on the individual thats assigned to do it.

Turn the engine over clock-wise.
