1.7 RR under stock VC's?

I tried to search this on here and a few other sites and couldn't really find a suitable answer. Can the stock GT valve covers be made to work with Crane 1.7 roller rockers (cobra roller rockers) or should I be looking for another set to use? I've heard about being able to take the baffles out of the stock ones to clear but just wanna make sure. I have a set of Edelbrock tall VC's but I need a spacer to clear them and don't really wanna buy one. Thanks for any input.

Yes, I ran them on stock VC's. Only thing I did was unbolt the baffle, no cutting/grinding.
