The difference in 17s and 18s is slight. 18s definately look a LITTLE bit better to me but to the average person, they won't be able to tell. The price of 18 inch tires to me is not worth the little bit of appearance gains. Depending on the picture, I sometimes can't even tell what size the wheel is. I'll take the $400 or $500 I saved on 17s and put that toward a blower.

+1... 18's look ALOT better to me and wish I went with them, but I am happy with the 17's and fat tires..

get 18s, when you get 17s you get to look at a whole buch of ugly sidewall, and that is not sexxay.

17 look to small go with the 18's. A couple of years ago 17 were expensive most now they are on every car and 18 are going down in price because new car have them.

if you get 18's make sure you get a tire w/ a normal sidewall and not some low profile tires. it will make the wheels look to big for the car.

17's, the tires are much cheaper (especially if you go through them like I do). There is more selection, and you can have a little bit of vibration dampening because you'll actually have some sidewall on your tires to absorb the shock. All of my customers love their 17's, the customers with 18's are not always as grateful. If you like the look of big wheels, just think of all of the unsprung weight you're adding and then think "how much of this weight is helping my car be better?" then go buy some 17's. :eek:uttahere:

My saleen has the magnesium wheels that are super lite. In a mustang don't look for the drive of a Lexus, enjoy the American power.

18's look better IMO.
plus with all the bigger wheels/tires trend, 18" tires arn't as expensive as they used to be.

I say go with 17s. If you're hardly gonna drive your car or have a lot of dough then go with the 18's. If money isn't an issue then go with the deep dish but remember that u cant rotate them and they will probably only last a 3rd of how long a non staggared stance will. That is if you really drive the car like its supposed to be driven. Its your car though. I have 275/40/17s all the way around... just wish my wheels were 17x9s. I still have stockers. Also I hear that the wide low pro 18s on stangs wander bad on the highway.

I voted for 17s based on this comment:

If you're working with a budget (or are a tight-ass ;) ) then it's not only the initial cost you have to worry about - 18" tires are significantly more expensive (at least around here)...

Let us know what you go with!
