Hi Everybody,

Up for sale here is the original 5.8 LITER COBRA intake manifold from my 1995 Mustang Cobra R.
This auction includes both the upper and lower halves. I will not sell the upper or lower half individually. Both pieces have been through the Extrude Hone process twice. Yes that's right, both pieces were put through the process twice, so they are matched to each other.
The Extrude Hone process forces an abrasive paste through the pieces in the same direction and path as the airflow. This enlarges the runners inside, removing any casting flash and the original rough cast surface, making the runners larger and very smooth inside, enabling laminar airflow. Extrude Honing is expensive on pieces like these because there's a large internal volume and the abrasive paste is not reusable, it's one and done. Twice in this case.
Compared to an original '95 Cobra R intake this thing flows like gangbusters, but, it still wasn't enough. I needed my aluminum 429 CID 351W to really be able to breath, so I eventually gave up on using the factory EFI and went with a single plane intake. This Cobra R intake has sat in a box in storage for too long. I know I'll never put it back on my car, so it's time for it to go.
You will get the best results with your engine if you perform some port matching of this lower to your cylinder heads.
$3,000 OBO (the extrude honing itself cost me almost $1,000 15 years ago). Don't think it's worth that much? There's an upper half only on eBay listed for $3,999. These uppers and lowers are both made of unobtainium.
I also have the original 24lb injectors and the original 351W Cobra R fuel rails with an adjustable regulator. I also have a few more pictures of everything. I'm open to offers and open to making a package deal. Ask any questions. I may also put these on eBay. Thanks for looking.

Keep the shiny side up, CobraRGuy

I would not know what side to show if it were to be hung on the wall. I would want to see both the top and the bottom after putting that much cash into the inside of it.

Put it on a display case like the Mona Lisa. People can walk around it and gaze

I'd just keep it with the car.
A purist most likely won't want it because its been modified. The average mustang guy won't want it because its a high dollar item and it won't net them the same power as a cheaper combo.

The best place to sell this would be on Bring A Trailer. You'll find several people interested I would think? Or maybe SVTP? Loads of R owners on there.

I don't want to hang onto this anymore. I have a lot of valuable parts that I just don't need and never will. What I'd much rather have is cash to invest and room in my garage. Some spares I have I do want to keep, like that NOS power brake booster and steering rack. I also have this listed on eBay.
I have an account on BAT. Putting it on there is a good idea. Thanks

Share the link if you put it on BAT. I'd like to watch it.

Cobra r rack ? That intakes cool but at 3k it’s going to be a tough sell . Pretty much anybody 351w swapping a sn95 isn’t hoping to use a cobra intake . I also went with a single plane super victor efi intake for my 395cid , 351w based stroker

part of me says that no one would ever pay that price and then I remember seeing people pay over a grand for tail lights and I know you just have to find that one dude. I am amazed what they are getting for just a regular 94/95 cobra intake. I paid $200 for mine long long ago in a galaxy far far away.... After polishing the outside, porting it and then ceramic coating I know I will be in the same area as this guy if I ever decide to sell it.

I did sell my 95 cobra intake for 800 but that’s only like 500 bald eagle dollars lol

I appreciate everyone's input. I took that manifold posting on eBay down because eBay is now reporting every sale to the IRS as income. They won't pay me out for the last item I sold unless I hand over an EIN or SSN. Yes, I could deal with it on my return, but I don't give my SSN out to anyone unless absolutely necessary. With eBay that's just not the case.
The worst part about this is the way eBay went about it. They allow people to sell a few things, then hold the payout hostage until you fork over one of most sensitive pieces of financial information there is. I won't be selling anything on eBay, and I've already decided to write off the $300+ I'm due. Eff eBay.

Holy crap man. That really sucks. I had no idea eBay was doing that.
