Its been awhile since ive been active on the forums. Just thought I would post up about what i have been doing to my 95 Cobra. A big round of upgrades are in the works. The biggest change is going to be an all new top end. New heads, cam, lifters, rockers, pushrods, intake, injectors, and throttle body. Im shooting for 650 hp at the tires on e85, so a new fuel system has been planned also. The shortblock is a dart sportsman block 347, with RPM H beam rods and forged 3.4 zero balanced crank, with Ross pistons for TFS heads. With the new heads, Im ended up with a CR of 9.8 to 1. Should work great with the Vortech V2 Si supercharger.

Just an old pic of the car.

One cylinder had a little damage to the old TFS Fast as cast 170 heads. Looks like preignition but didnt find any evidence on the corresponding piston or ring lands.

Car parts, motorcycle parts, and tools. At this point, hookers and booze would be cheaper. An unfortunately, more are on the way lol.

I like the crimping tool with interchangeable jaws.
I still need to get the die to do spark plug wires with. The premade sets always come up to short to route in a clean manner.

Not much has really happened with the project as late, but things are going to start happening shortly. Was shooting to have the motor back in the car by August, but the Box R intake is on backorder until 8/13. Waiting on the new timing chain to arrive then work will commence. Will be installing the custom FTI cam, degree it, check ptv clearances, measure pushrods, bolt the heads on, and mark the lower intake for port matching with 1262R gaskets. In the meantime, gonna make a few bucks using my new toy...Autel Maxisys Elite scan tool.
Stay tuned to see what's in store for the fuel system. Its gonna be nice.

Got a few more pieces of the puzzle delivered today. New timing chain with Torrington bearing, new valve covers, and some 95 LB hr Deatschwerks injectors. The parts list shrinking thankfully.

Got the new Accufab 90mm throttle body in a few days ago. Still waiting for Trickflow to make the black powder coated Box R upper that it will mount to.

Well TFS finally made the upper. Had to sit it all together just for giggles. I also found a great deal on a Procharger "Big Red Race Valve " so I couldn't resist. The Bosch valve was mediocre at best. The fuel system and odds and ends are the only parts left. Well with the exception of pushrods.

Finally started some assembly today. Got the FTI cam installed and degreed, new timing chain on, measured for pushrods and checked piston to valve clearance. The morel linkbar lifters got dropped in and the heads sat on. They still need to be torqued, but I should be able to finish that tomorrow, along with the timing chain cover, water pump, and harmonic balancer.

Made some progress today along with some setbacks. I had the timing cover and harmonic balancer on, but broke a water pump to timing chain cover bolt. My efforts to extract it proved futile, so decided to switch efforts the top end. Got the new pushrods installed, along with adjusting the comp cams 1.6 ultra pro Magnum roller rockers. Moved on to the valve covers, and then the TFS Box R intake, and lastly the 90 mm Accufab throttle body.

Got a little more work done today. Got the replacement timing cover on, the water pump, the Innovators West balancer and timing pointer, accessory and blower pulley, and the new oil pan on. Of course once again, ran into problems. Either the oil pan or timing chain cover was a little to proud in the front seal area, not letting the front of the pan to seat far enough down. The Ford racing one piece gasket got the front seal cut off, and replaced with a nice bead of the right stuff. The rear seal was left intact, but also got some right stuff love. Instead of welding a -8 an oil return on the pan, I decided I would try a bolt on fitting from jegs. For anyone needing an oil return in the pan, I would recommend one of these. https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/522...uv5PGms7f1bm6Q9VjPeZdck3TH0V2v_hoC8qgQAvD_BwE
