I am looking to replace the factory camshaft on my 351 W and have two selected: Crane Cams - 40211 - .498/498 lift 278d 0.050/222/222 - 2600 to 6000 rpm 351w - 9-10.5:1 compression ¼-3/8 mile - lobe sep? Competition Cams - 35-414-3 - Magnum 270H - .500/.500 270d 0.050/224/224 - 1800 to 5800 - Lobe sep 110d Are either of these a good choice or is one a better choice than the other? (or do I have other options) Thank you Ron.
Both cams are VERY mild. On a 351, there going to feel like a truck motor in my opinion. You can go bigger and still retain streetability. I'd call up comp cams tech line and ask the PROS for their advice.
This is a genuine 1995 Cobra R? Sweet. Anyway, here's my initial questions - then I should be able to provide you some advice. 1. This is a production roller block, correct? Which would mean you don't have to run some crummy retrofit cam, yes? 2. What are your intentions with the car? Street driven? Racecar? What? 3. What kind of manners do you want from the car with regard to idle quality, sound, etc? 4. Do you need to pass emissions? Neat car. Post pics. Paul.
I am fixing to put a 420W in my 94 cobra soon... getting rid of the 306/powerdyne. It will be a cobra R clone.
