My younger brother bought a mustang this summer that someone started to clone as a saleen. Has the body kit , 18'' saleen ( from looking online I think they are lemans rims ) and swapped in a 351w. Has been lowered and some suspension work done. The 351 started to knock after a few hard runs against my ls1 Camaro. The plan is rebuild the 351 , repaint the car , just the usual stuff...lol.
The 351 in the car now has gt40 heads with svo 1.6 rr , lightning lower with a gt40 tublur upper , shorty headers. Rebuild will consist of stock crank , rods , tfs pistons , tfs 11r 190 heads , tfs intake , tfs stage 2 cam , reuse the headers. Will have a sct chip done for the car also. We hoping for 400hp at the crank. Does 400hp sound like a number for the parts used? The car is also a t5 car. Will post pics of the car when I get a chance to snap a few.

Drop in a stroker kit have the lower intake ported and go with a more aggressive cam, 600 would then be a realistic number.

Bingo, unless you are trying to keep a very tight budget, a stroker build will be much more "rewarding"

Tried to get him to build a 393 for the car. He just wants a fun street car with about 400hp.

If the 11R 190 are to stay within a budget, go up to the 205 and wait on the intake. Little extra out of pocket now but nice for the upgrades to come later after the power bug digs really deep. IMO.

Got the 351 pulled out last and the top end stripped off. Found domed pistons and 3 of the 4 on the passenger side are broke.

Anyone have a timing cover for a 94-95 mustang kicking around and the power steering pulley for sale?

The car is super dirty as it snowed the day I got to pull the motor. After the motor is done , I will be painting the car.

I know about Ed Curtis for cams. Is there any other company that any of you guys have dealt with?
