Hello, So im looking for a basic running tune for my 96 mustang gt, car has stock 4.6 bottom end, PI heads and intake with Howard's cams, 80mm slot style mass air, 24lb injectors, egr and rear o2 delete. Long tube headers. Is there an e tune or off the shelf tune I can get? Also I do have the SCT X4.

Thanks.

If you are within a couple hours drive of Shelbyville Kentucky, get an appointment set up with Lee Blankenship dyno tuning. Only vehicles he tunes are Fords and is considered one of the best nationally. There are plenty other dyno tuners out there with excellent success that might be close to you. Let us know where you are and Im sure someone knows a tuner close.

I will say this, when the car gets dyno tuned, it becomes a completely different car!

Why are you installing an 80 mm slot style maf? You putting a turbo or blower on it? A stock maf will run the cams just fine. Also most the the reputable tuners have done so many cams only cars that an "email" tune will get you running okay. It is still recommended to have someone do the final tweaks in person or via data logging though.

It was boosted two years ago and I had blown that motor then, now just put a fairly stock engine together with a bunch of stuff I had in the shop. Im just wanting to find an email tune to get it going. Car runs and idles great but once warmed up it tends to want to stall when you come to a stop light sometimes.

Ahhhh.. thats a rough history. You can probably do a data log tune for that.

Before doing any mail order tune, make sure you have a working wideband O2 sensor and gauge. A mail order tune is an educated shot in the dark. Every engine has different fueling needs.
