Problem, I bought a new alternator and battery and now my battery is marking 28 and the radio keeps shutting off and the battery light keeps coming and going. It goes right back to the middle when the cars idleing but when I drive it goes up. The ampage is only 130? Any idea what this can be?

The alt. is running at full out put so there is a problem from the regulator on the back of the alt. and the field wire which is the little single wire next to the big plug in connector on the alt.
Most of the time it is the G3 type regulator that fails not the alt. it self.
The OEM Ford G3's are the best and worth collecting when in the bone yard. There are some good aftermarket ones but are hard to find. Most are Mexi/China junk and last 18 months or less and can be DOA.

It’s that little connection correct? How would I go about putting a new one would I have to cut it and splice it?

Heat shrink would safely cover it. Not too thick

So I just put heat shrink over it and stick it on? Was thinking about just putting tape

Put the new connector on and heat shrink up to close to the end. That way it’s coated all around.

Taped it up for now and warrantied my alternator, it’s back to normal now! Just changed the oil and filter put a dab of mystery oil and put my new tranny pan gasket and filter. Cars idling beautifully and smooth. Going to take it for a spin once I put some frion in it. Also does anybody have any pi cams from a mustang for sale?? I’ll buy them right now lol

Bought the paint for my car, went ahead and got pearl magnet grey I believe it’s a Toyota color but similar to fords magnetic grey, should look good on the car! Also bought a much needed battery tray, new resivoir and new edge center console for cup holders

Well the passenger side head gasket decided to take a poop today so now a rebuild has to happen, I’ll be pulling the motor and ordering the parts this week. I’m sad but I’m happy for what’s to come ! [emoji41]
