Ah thats right!!! The original pan is mustang specific with the oil pick up tube. Both tube and pan work together. I forgot about that. Although i believe any pan and any pick up can be used but i dont think any pick up can be used with the original pan. I only speculate this because i run a 5.4l but Be sure to test fit for interferences. The non mustang pick up tubes bottom out on the mustang pan.

How can I check it for clearance to make sure it clears?

If you notice the original pan will have a bump in the sump around the middle and the oil pickup tube end will be open and screened. The tube will sit in the sump bump.

Other pick up tube types have the same screen, but has a covering over the screened pick up end that cause interference with the pan.

This may be because i mostly build with 5.4l parts adapting to the 4.6l base platform, but this is an issue i have ran into.

Just double check your scenario.

Last valve cover shaved and painted. Not perfect but I rushed it and it’s better than it was before! Also reloomed my engine harness and the engine is 90% assembled! Hoping to have it in and running tomrrow if things go as planned!

A very long time coming and a lot of gratitude for y’all and the a buddy who helped me along the way! I’ve successfully rebuilt my first engine, swapped it in and got it running! Still a couple odds and ends but she lives! It’s been along time coming, a lot of blood sweat and tears went into this. But it was all worth it hearing it fire up! I can’t wait to move forward with the car and daily it once again! I’d like to thank 96blak54 especially for all the pointers and the cams! Once I get her buttoned up it’ll be time for tires, some suspension, exhaust and paint!

Update on the car. Will be going to my buddies to get the last couple pieces it needs done to it and prepped and painted. I haven’t had any motivation, nor time to work on it like I’d like so my buddy will be finishing it for me. Did a job and the guy threw in this front cobra brake set. Will be painting the calipers, and putting them on the car, just need to get the pins for the calipers. Are these a direct bolt up? Or will I need to change the lines for some cobra correct ones?

Its been a while since I did my cobra brake swap but if it remember correctly you just need to get cobra brake hoses. Something is also sticking out in my mind that the banjo bolts on cobras are different as well?

you have to check on the cobras. sometimes the gt lines will bolt right up sometimes the threads on the cobra calipers are different. i'm working on the same swap on mine.

Need somebody to chime in on this body guys maybe? This is the door skin on my passenger side door. Is there a way to fix this without having to replace the door? The door does have a couple dents but nothing that wouldn’t pop out. Thanks

i think it can be fixed , you will need a spot welder
how did you end up doing that
It was like that when I first got the car. Then I locked my keys in it and didn’t have a slim Jim so I pulled it back a little and unlocked it. Definitely made it worse.
