@RAU03MACH , quick question - if it is my water pump that needs to be replaced, would it be recommended that I replace the surrounding parts like the serpentine belt, idler pulley, and tensioner?

The tensioner make sure it has good spingback when pushed down has good tension

The idler pulley make sure its not dragging when rotating it
Or noise

The hoses check them mabe the thermostat while your in there

Spin all pulleys by hand make sure no dragging binding noise belt look for cracks fraying glaze

That's a pretty good start to kinda get to know that engine

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I replaced the water pump. Looks like the original one had some corrosion, not sure what caused it.. maybe age?

Thanks all for the help!1000000453.jpg

if leaking from the center, probably the pump or t-stat. leaking on a side, looks at hoses. not sure if that year gt has a oil cooler on it on not. if so, those leak. oil filter screws to it.

Hi, I have a similar problem although the coolant seems to be leaking from further back. Also kinda new to this, so I don't know what part exactly but looks like whatever is between the pump and the engine block.
Was it the water pump in your case?

btw I drive the V6 3.8
