Been a lurker around the forums here for awhile, decided that it was time to register and start a build thread of my own.
A co worker at the local Ford dealership were i work as a tech decided his wifes crashed 97 GT convertible was too much of a project to fix and too much cash decided to give me this car for free as it has sat for 5 years and he just couldnt get it together.
here is what it looked like right before i drove it home

Shortly after i got it home, i started stripping the fender off to inspect the damage ;

doesnt look to bad. small frame pull , and some sheet metal..
here are a few shots of the good side ;

So drove this puppy down to the ford dealer i work for, and had the body shop do the frame pull

body shop only charged me 250$ to get it straight. so once that was done, i went hunting for some sheet metal. found there wasnt anything at the local wreckers, and i would more than likely looking for a whole car to buy to get the parts i needed.. found this gem on craigslist
1996 v6 5spd coupe;

Paid 600$ for the entire car. and actually felt very bad tearing this car apart for body panels. it was a cherry little car, ran awesome, and only had 136k kms on it. but i knew what i had to do ...

got it all stripped down, and headed down to work to install the panels , only to find out some drug addicts jumped our locked fenced in compound and stole the sparkplugs and wires and battery out of the GT.. Got that shit sorted, and hung some sheet metal and doors. transfered all the power stuff into the non power door and hung it on the car ;

Got er registered and insured and drove it for a week. nice tight well running stock 4.6. My plans at this point was to just drive it for a month or two and figure out wether i wanted to attempt to paint it myself, or pay the body shop to do it .... then one saturday the lot kid backed into it. turns out his dad is the Sales manager, and the kid didnt have a license. thats were my luck turned. Ended up getting the bodyshop at work to paint the car for 900$ out of my pocket, and the other 2grand from the Sales manager.. So here is how she sits as of last week with some body work done, and some primering. they are using it as a "fill" in job, but im getting impatient and want to get on with the mods!

Picked up some maintance items for it, fresh oil and filter, fuel filter etc.
Car will need a fuel pump sooner than later as it is making the death whine.
plans for this will be some drop springs, some cobra r wheels, new top, and a new windshield.
Of course doing the exhaust and intake, and some basic stuff.
Can anyone recommend a x pipe and cat back setup?
