1998 cobra tick issue

I have read a thousand post or more on the notorious valve train tick. However today while trying to centralize the tick I pushed on my cold air tube and removed the iac hose from the tube. The tick went away immediately and returns once the hose is restored. Any suggestions?

Are you sure the tick is actually in your valve train? Clean your IAC.
