But they want the original version
I replaced 2 on one car guy wanted warranty told him to go to ford that's were it came from
But that was back then
When I work at a ford dealer back then
It was 5.0 intakes good aluminium intakes

Did a little more searching around and found out that Summit sells the alternator brackets for the Trick Flow manifold. its a lot more than I expected a bracket to be but what can you do. Still going to wait to hear back from Trick Flow themselves to see if pricing is any different.

Also happy 4th everyone! Here is a baby burnout from back when I first got the car

Haven't made much progress lately, I have started to strip the engine bay of the wiring harnesses and such to prep for paint. Its been ungodly hot here in PA lately and the last thing i feel like doing is spending a few hours hunched over the engine bay outside in the heat lol. I am also waiting for parts as a lot have been back ordered. I am hoping to have my Maximum Motorsports coil over kit here by the end of the month, although they said it could be sometime in August... I ordered them the first week of June :(.

I did order an Auto Meter oil pressure gauge as it is the same style as the boost gauge I already have, I am very picky about gauges, I want them to all look the same, not be all different styles or faces. I have been on the fence about mechanical vs electronic oil pressure gauge. I have only ever had electronic and it was fine. However, this style gauge is over $200 for a full sweep electronic style gauge. the Mechanical full sweep gauges are far cheaper. So for the price for a "used like new" warehouse deal from amazon I decided why not. I have had good luck with ordering used stuff in that condition.. until today. the gauge was $40 so i figure eh why not save a few bucks, its only a gauge. Well from the outside it looks brand new! but as soon as I opened the box the face of the gauge feel to the floor. Whoever originally purchase this, over tightened the living hell out of the silver trim ring and broke it right off of the gauge. Good thing returns are easy with Amazon

Small little update

Been busy with life and all so havent worked on this much. I did finally receive my Maximum Motorsport coilover kit after a two month back order. Planning on building them this week. Going with Tokico D-specs & 250lb 12inch Viking springs. Using the viking springs as i originally bought a UPR coilover kit and the fitment around the strut was terrible, figured Id give the springs a try. Besides that I have been slowly prepping the engine bay for paint. Never realized just how much wiring is in this car. Still have to take the passenger side fender off and take the harness on that side out. Tried to label and bag as much as I could to make putting it back together as easy as can be.

Also snapped one of the lower fender bolts. Spent ~10 minutes slowly working it out, had it nearly out and then it decided to snap. I am also looking for info on this hose, it connects to the back of the throttle body plenum, as you can see in the picture below it is all dry rotted and literately falling apart in my hand. No idea where it goes as it goes behind the passenger side firewall area. figured id replace it while i have easy access to it but am unsure of where to get the hose or what sort of generic hose i can replace it with

Assembled my Maximum Motorsports coil over kit with viking 250lb 12inch springs, I hope they ride as nice as they look. Install was straight forward. Hopefully will get the engine bay prepped for paint over the long weekend.

Finally made some space inside for the Mustang this weekend and got to work. Got it all set up on jack stands (not harbor freight ones lol) and started taking the front end apart. Got the passenger side wiring harness pulled through and disconnected. So the passenger side is all ready to get sanded down. Still have to mess with some stuff on the driver side before that's ready to be sanded down. I also found another small rust area (Picture 5) that I didn't notice before as it was covered by one of the wiring harness on the passenger side and of course its in a PITA spot, but a small sand blaster should do the job.

Found what I think is called a "buck tag" in the area by the driver headlight, kind of cool

I've also always had a hunch that my car was involved in a light front end accident of some sort. Even though there was no report or anything on the Carfax I still had a feeling. Reason being is when I bought the car 7 years ago, it had aftermarket TYC brand 99/00 clear headlights and the front bumper cover never quite matched the paint on the rest of the car. Today I discovered that my hunch was correct! After taking the bumper off I discovered that at some point the driver side impact absorber, and I assume the foam was replaced because whoever did it, left the area there in black paint/primer. The repair looks to be a pretty decent job, but the part that annoys me is that they barely screwed in the actual crash bar (picture 8) and it's been driving around with it like that for who knows how long!

Not much to update on this, got put on the back burner while I help a friend with his Evo 9 and wait for parts. Have made some progress. Got the front suspension and brakes pulled off, just have to drop the K-member then start sanding & sand blasting. I sent my steering rack out to Cardone to be rebuilt to 03-04 cobra spec as none of my local stores had that rack in stock and ironically the terminator rack was cheaper than a GT rack.

I also noticed that my ABS unit says "V6 Traction" which confuses me as clearly its not a V6 lol. However I have had a ABS light on for years and want to get it fixed while everything is apart. Now the question is, Do I order a replacement for a V6 unit or a GT?

Complete side note, does anyone need doors to a 94-98? I completely forgot I had both doors left over from a 97 I parted out

I could use a passenger side door, if the shipping is friendly

Do a search on youtube and there is a way to pull err codes from the abs unit with a paperclip to see what it is telling you is wrong. m It could be as simple as a dirty wheel speed sensor or something else that is not related to the main unit throwing the code. Pretty sure the v6/gt/cobra abs unit is all the same.

Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! With the time off I got back to work on this thing. Finished removing some small odds and ends from the engine bay then got to work scuffing it up for paint. I hit it with some wax and grease remover first to get rid of all the dirt and grime that has built up over the years.

50661290246_84feead260_k.jpg

^ Driver side is all shiny from the wax & grease remover

After it was all wiped down the tedious job of scuffing was started. I still need to sandblast a few areas and also scuff the firewall and top part of the rad support. But that will have to wait for another day.

For paint I am going with Kemperle "street rod" black instead of repainting it the factory color. I have a few reasons for this.

1) I want to repaint the entire car but can't decide on what color I want to do. I know I want to keep it a red color, but there are so many to choose form. For the longest time I was dead set on 03/04 Cobra "Redfire Metallic," then Ford came out with "Ruby Red" on the S550 cars. And Dodge has an "Octane Red" that looks amazing as well. So a black engine bay will go with any color I end up choosing.
2) I think a black engine bay looks really nice
3) It's kind of a throwback to the Mustangs of the 60's where they had flat black engine bays no matter the color.

I am also going to use their bed liner kit as well to coat the inside of the fender wells to hopefully prevent this sort of rust from ever coming back again. I've seen it done before in the fender well area and I think it looks nice and it might even reduce the road noise from the tires a tad bit.

Not looking to ship them, sorry.

Yeah i searched around and found that they all might be the same as long as you get whatever your car has, example If you have traction control you need a unit that has traction on it. Shouldn't matter if its V6 or not

Slowly making progress, engine bay is all scuffed up and ready for paint. need to sandblast a few areas before hand. However, I do have two questions for the community.

1) When i was removing the brake lines i broke the plastic clips that hold them in place. First picture below is of what I am talking about. Anyone had any ideas on where I can get new ones? cant seem to find them online.

50776441973_b7528f4d7e_k.jpg

2) I want to replace the brake lines that come of the master cylinder, one of them was replaced years ago and the other is definitely leaking. I contacted a company that makes SS brake lines for our cars and asked to just purchase those two lines but was told I need to buy the entire kit. Not gonna happen as the rest of my brake lines are perfectly fine. I can make and flare the lines myself but dont really feel like dealing with that. So my question is, Does anyone know where I can buy these two lines pre-bent?

Small update

Had time to get started on the passenger shock tower. Not as bad as the driver but obliviously needed to get repaired. grinded it down and reveled two small holes along with a larger hole that I couldn't photograph because of the spot it was in. the larger hole was in the engine bay where the top of the rail meets the bottom of the shock tower if that makes sense. if you are looking at the first picture below it is right below where the red scruffy pad is on the left. Mocked up a rough cardboard templet for the fabricator to take a look at this week before he makes a patch panel for it. Again, not nearly as bad as the driver side but still a pain to fix, I hope this is the last of the rust repair

Man, rust really sucks. Good job getting it tackled though.

As for your brake lines, I do t think you are going to find those two new. It looks like one of them has already been replaced at some point. It’ll probably be best to just get some stainless tubing and make your own.
