How fast do you guys think an auto convert z28 is running?...my friend with an auto ss ran 14.3 so I would guess an auto z28 convert would be like 14.5?

uhhh thats the slowest i have ever heard of a LS1 slow-maro run :-\ even with the automatics the ones I have seen were in the mid 13 range.

Bone stock on a hot sunny day I ran a 13.4@105 with catfish.

I have a ton of F-Body buds and all of theirs stock were 12.9-13.5 and some non drivers were 13.8ish and an Auto Z/28 vert is in that range, maybe more towards 13.4-13.5

Well stock for stock, the LS1 kills it.

Now with Longtubes, x pipe and dumps, suspension mods, 4.30's ,a tune and a tire, the Cobra is definately quicker. It is more fun to drive and sounds mean as hell from 3500-7000.

Now if I put 500 bucks into the LS1, it is right back in the lead. The LS1 responds very very well to mods as alot of my friends are 360 rwhp+ with just bolt ons and of course we have a few monster 600-1000 rwhp FI LS1's in our Local group.

yeah thats kind of what i had expected...about the same as my personal experience...those ls1's are insanly nice engines from the factory even..BWT those are some nice looking cars u have there O0

coming from a previous LS1 owner (98 Z), I would say with your average driver he would be within a 13.4 - 13.8. After a few runs getting that launch down, he would definetly be in the 13.4-13.5 range with a 2.1 60' or so @ 102-103 mph.

oh, and + 1 about the LS1's response to bolt ons. After adding longtubes, my auto was trapping 13.0s @ 109mph! Its going to be a while before my mustang will be as fast as my exhaust only ls1 was haha.

That car is impossible to find


The LT1 was last used in the 1997 Camaro's. The LS1 debuted in 98 until 02 and we are still looking at 13.4 ET's unless he has the GU 2 2.73 gear option then high 13's

close friend of mine went 13.4@106 bone stock with 2.73's on stock tires....did ls6 cam (not much different from ls1 but alittle more duration i believe), LID, 3.23 gear, cutout, and went 12.8@109

I remember when my friend with just exhaust went 13.2 at palmdale (2700ft elevation) on stock tires, m6

then he went to fontana (sea level) on stock tires, stock everything except for exhaust went 12.8
