So i am buying tires very soon. I originally had my mind set on 275/40r17.

I am getting BFGoodrich Sport Comp-2 . The tires are $135 per tire.

But i know the 275s rub, and i know the BFGs run wider than most. I currently have Falkin ZX512 on there and the rub a little on full turn.

So should i drop down a size for the BFGs (drop to a 255/40r17) to prevent the rubbing?

P.S. i really like the way my rear tires look, which is 275/40r17 Falkin FK453. The tire size to rim ratio, how it bulges a little. And i worry that the 255s wont bulge at all.

Thank you :)

Im running 255/40/17 up front. Looks perfect. U'd be better with the 255 as u will encounter less rubbing.

Are you on a 17x9 rim... and do you have any close up side shots of the tire, possibly showing how much the tire hangs over the rim?

I have 245's in the front, and I'll definitely be getting 255's the next time around as well as a shorter sidewall.

275 in the rear should be perfect. 255 will look too narrow from the rear.

275 all 4 I never had any issues with mind rubbing.

I run a 265/35/18 front now and still don't have any issues.

thanks guys for all the help. I am keeping the same size all around, so i can rotate, so since the 255s in the back are to small, then i think i will stick with the 275s all the way around.

thank you everyone for making my choice easier.i will post picks when the tires are installed.

I don't mean to hijack this thread. But I'm probably going with the 17x9s now. And I'm trying to make the same decision. Anyone have pics of the 17x9s with 275s?
Thanks!

It'll look flush. Just go on American Muscle and view customer pics of 275s.... they're pretty much all running 9" wheels.
