Will be getting new wheels and tires come spring. My 98 gt currently has 275 on stock wheels on all 4 corners. Tires R to big on wheels as is and def look dumb up front. I want the staggered look. Will be getting 245s for the front. But undecided about the rears. I think the 275 on a 9 inch will be a good safe fit on the rear but dam the 315 on a 10 inch wheels looks awesome. My concern is will I run into rubbing with 315 when I lower it 2 inches. I'm probably going to get some wheels from americanmuscle.com if that helps. And also with that big of a tire does it make the car feel sluggish in a way??
im sure this is a topic beat to death but I'm new and had to ask lol.

275s on 9s are perfect fitment. As for 315s on 10.5s, also perfect fit. Do you still have quad shocks? If you do, you'll probably have to flip them around or just toss em altogether. I took mine off, ya don't need them, just dead weight. As for rubbing with a 2" drop, you might be cutting it extremely close and might have to have your fenders rolled. My friend has fr500s, 17x10.5" rears with 315s, they rub on his inner fender. So his sidewalls got cut up a decent amount.

Check out stangmods.com too. They have a nice selection of wheels, I got mine there. Great price and products

Yeah I believe general consensus is with 315s you need to do a little massaging of the inner fender and the lip could cut your sidewall as mentioned; if not consider yourself lucky.

315's look the best on the back of these cars with their fat asses. I've been running them for years. I got a 1.5" drop in the rear using H&R super race springs and Bilstein shocks. Only had to flip the quad around. No rubbing on fender here but then again im not at a 2" drop.

315's look so good on the back! Just do it you won't regret it...AM & Stage3 Motorsports have good rims with the perfect backspacing to help avoid issues...mine (17" ) don't rub anywhere...just flipped the quads...not going smaller! LOL...1.5" drop

For the look, the 315 is what you want. If you're worried about it slowing you down (because you like most of us probably don't have the power to constitute so much rubber) the 275 will work. Cars get into the 9's on a 275 tire, so it would have plenty of grip. Looks alone, 315 is where it's at.
