I've been considering doing a 5.4 swap with a tork tech kit for a while now. Especially after I saw this one.

My plan is to get one of the 5.4 blocks with the forged crank and get some forged rods and pistons. Then slap a blower cam on it with the tork tech kit and stock heads, and call it a day for a while.

You're not alone, my friend.

Here is the new 5.4l 2v swap intake option. At $350 for the intake, it hurts to do surgery of any kind, but its really the only option for under the stock hood fitment.

Im in the process of welding now. I have it bolted down to a dummy engine and will remain bolted untill as much welding as I can get on it. My weld looks like poop, but I can always grind it off

Knowing I could get some of the cash back before cutting it did go through my mind. I shrugged my shoulders and thought "oh well", push on. I need the free flowing intake and for it to fit under the hood. This intake is perfect!

My initial thought was send it to my welder buddy, cause I stink welding aluminum. I couldn't surrender to the idea knowing I have all the capability (but experience/finesse) and equipment. My brain says "you can do this" and I listen.

Are you going to fab your own elbow or just make an adaptor plate to go on top?

I figured an adapter will suffice. Front facing would be sweet! Ill definitely poke at trying it. If I can get it to fit under the stock hood, I may do that.

In order to use the stock fuel rails, ill need to cut off these towers made for aftermarket rail hold downs. Ill then use a run of 1x3/4 aluminium I have laying around as the new hold down for the old rails. No since in buying 1000hp capable fuel rails. Cheap is my game!
