About the alternator, the 4v got a slimmer alternator than a normal 2v. The thick 2v wont work with the 4v intake manifold
I dont have this issue currently and have never heard they wouldn't work and I've swapped them back and forth for years?

Though after more thought the 4v bracket probably doesnt fit without modifying the holes

Im thinking long as its the tiny 2v alt found in the later 01-up stangs, the swap will work, but the earlier was a big thick alt on the 2v and the 4v got a thinner one

I did some checking yesterday and you are indeed correct. I've never ran into this before but the 97 2v alt definitely will not work.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention as I wouldve been highly annoyed if I ran into this on my own.

Only reason i knew....back when i was building a holley roots charger 5.4l, the kit required a thin 4v alternator. And yeah i understang them build roadblocks, i was very annoyed when i realized what was needed.
