Looking for those have gone those routes, any regrets?

The 363 is easy I get it. Anyone got the 427 regretted that? In line to get a short block, trying to make up my mind if I want to go through the hassle of the 427.

Live in California, will be boosted with a V3. AFR 185s. Steeda 19 cam. going to port the Cobra intake.

Loaded question. Its gonna boil down to your budget.
363 will require a dart block 427 wont.
Heads for either combo are on the small side.
A ported cobra intake isnt the best option for either.
The cam is to small and not really suited for a blower.
All said and done id be going 427
No mention of what size the vortech is.

Personally id build a 289 cranked, long rodded, 351blocked windsor with a set of nasty heads and cam.

363 would be my choice as you won’t need so many swap parts by staying 8.2 deck height

Why not consider the 331 or. 347 if your wanting to stay with the 8.2 block. But again the the 351w strokers are much stronger can use a OEM block. I've seen 408's spin 7500 all day long. I have a 393 comp 294hr cam, spins 6600, in a SN 95. If you car has hydro boost your golden with either. If you have vacuum brakes. The canister will be tight up against the valve covers. I went to a manual setup, since it's mostly a track car.

I understand what you are saying. I like the Holley Systemax, but I want to run the Cobra. I like how the intake looks, and there is a part of me that feels it is special with the car.

Coming from someone asking to much of the cobra intake on a 302 …. I vote against not swapping it . My car makes over 550rwhp and the cobra intake isn’t helping me. You should definitely look at something that flows better

I currently have a Dart 351 stroked to 427, 9.5 deck with AFR 220 heads, FAST EFI 2.0, and a mild cam.
I still run all of my accessories. I will post a video soon as I figure out how.

So just double checking, the 351w needs the following (just bare minimum to work):
Lower intake
Distributor
Oil pan (pump & pickup)
351w swap headers
Widen fuel rails
Offset steering rack bushings

Just my mental checklist.

Yes pretty much covers the list.

So it’s looking like no one who did the 351w style swap had any regrets?
