So I found a set of 3v heads for $200 and was wondering if I could use those on my 98 gt. I know I'd have to find an intake if I did. What all else would I need if this would fit
I ran a google search and came up with this: http://www.loganmotorsports.com/2V_to_3V_conversion.html Beware though, I've read that this particular swap is not worth it due to compatability issues. It can be done but it's a pain in the ass, in other words...
you should be able to find a 3V block cheapish now and they are aluminum. I am not sure if the 3V heads will work with 2V pistons (valve clearance) but never really looked into it.
Yes you will need to drill a coolant passage, use the head gasket to mark it and drill. Ptv not sure I have probe pistons It's not a straight up swap lots of work and planning go into it..... Cams/Cam phaser lockouts, full intake (filter to heads), fuel system, timing cover, v10 block plates, exhuast, tune. all of this ..... And then some... It sounds so easy on paper
