Good gearing for a 99 GT? 5 speed, n/a, couple of bolt ons.

Buddys car, rear end on Craig's to replace his bunk stocker.

4.10 in a 5spd seems that he will be doing a lot of shifting, not completely knocking it as Im sure it will give that car a kick in the ass but I think thats why most 5spds go with 373.

I loved my 4.10s with the auto, and love em just as much with the 5 speed.

I could see why people would get annoyed of having such low gearing in a daily because 1st and 2nd are relatively non-existed, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
And dragging out 1st is a blast (all 2 seconds of it).

Does he have any sort of highway commute? I love my 4.10s but the highway rpms are a little much at times, but I kind of solved that by cruising at 60-65 instead of 75. Going through the first few gears is pretty great though.

Modulars love the gear! When I went to the 3.73's I kind of wish I had done the 4.10's but I was used to the 5.0 and 3.73 was perfect for them.

Depends on how much highway driving he does. If its not a lot or not often, I say 4.10s all the way

Isn't there a 3.90 out there ?
There is, but from what I understand they're not much different from the 3:73 gears. I have been considering them myself, I do a bit of highway and city driving. I was hoping they would be a good in between.

From what I understand the 4.10s are a blast but I might go to the 3.90's from my 3.55's

4.10s are a good gear for that car. I had them in my 03 GT and in 5th gear at 70mph, I was at like 2300rpm with a 3650. Im not sure where they would be with a T45, but I cant imagine that it would be much different. I have since switched to 4.30s, but I wouldn't hesitate to do the 4.10s...

I'm getting the rear this weekend.

He's still in HS, not too much commuting yet.

I'm sure he'll love 'em. Make him feel like hes got 500HP!

I was on the fence between 3.73 and 4.10 but after a lot of research I think 4.10s is what I will go with since I plan to keep my motor N/A.

Well, it turned out to be a 3:27. The seller was told 4:10, but he cracked the case to make sure and they were stock 3:27. But I got it for $125 complete rear. So I can't complain too much.
