Hello I currently own a 97 mustang gt. I plan on swapping the motor to a 347 Windsor off jegs. I was wondering all the parts I need to change out to complete the swap. Thanks

Honestly?

You need everything. Engine, transmission, mounts, accessories, wiring, the works.

What is the goal for the car and how do you intend to use it?

You will also need to swap the K-member to a 94-95 K-member, and change out your spindles to 94-95 spindles due to the revised steering rack location.

That's in addition to trans, bellhousing, mounts, wiring, etc.

It might be cheaper/easier to Coyote swap. Not joking.

Your npi 4.6l isnt a slouch with the right bolt ons. Pi head, cam, and intake swap alone is 40hp but comes with a compression bump and will need to be tuned accordingly with higher grade fuel.

Swapping in the pi cams and pi intake on the npi heads is a good power bump as well.

If you want to be competitive with whats on the streets these days, i feel like a coyote swap is you best option. The coyote will sit right in place of what you have now and bolt directly to the transmission too. We have some members that have become very efficient with coyote swaps in the sn95's and can guide you through. And the Jegs 347 long block is $5800.....i feel like for that amount of money focused on a coyote swap youll be much happier.

Question on the coyote swap do I need new motor mounts or a different ecu ? Also how easy is it to fit in a sn95 . Thankyou for the tip.

^ You can check my build site (below) as well as my YT channel to see how much fun it is. Not as bad as you think. You can keep everything! Yes to needing an ECU, but that is added. Or, you can do what others have done and SC it. I'm not one of those guys, so check them out too.

Give enough time, others with the experience will chime in. To my understanding with the coyote swap, money spent, youll be miles ahead over the older out dated technology

For what it’s worth I’d put a bone a stock gen 1 f 150 coyote engine in it before a 347 swap .
