As for weight:
Engine_______Weight
4.6 SOHC_____500lbs
4.6 DOHC_____425lbs (aluminum block)
5.4 SOHC_____525lbs
5.4 DOHC_____540lbs

The 25-30Lbs can easily be offset with a k member, and other light weight parts, but the K member will be the most directly helpful as it will take off some weight exactly where you added it.
Hope that helps

The biggest hold up is the steering shaft and the collection of tubes being able to fit because of the 4.6l width. Since the 5.4l deck height makes the engine wider plus taller the tubes are closer to whats already in the way in a 4.6l scenario. There is that one dood over at that other forum. He claims the brand of long tubes he used worked fine with his dohc 5.4l. I forgot the brand, but a quick search will reveal the company make 2v & 4v headers. I cant see why a manufacturer would re-route the tubes for the same car. Ima go read it again and report back

This is the swap I'm considering if and when my 2v goes south, just because it's not done a lot, although the 3v swap is also interesting..

I got some plates if it helps.
You will love the torque curve if you drive on the streets. Its like going a step taller in gears. Without having to rev the shit out of it.
