New guy on the block here. Do you need to pull the plugs to remove the valve cover. I'm thinking not.
I have a broken valve cover bolt and need to get it removed.
Just a question. Tks the new guy

So got everything moved out of the way to remove the valve cover. With the exception of the tube from the exhaust header to the EGR valve. Looks like that is the remaining piece of the puzzle. Any ideas on how to get it removed?

A weeks worth of everyday rust penetrate saturation and a lot of luck! Be sure to source a replacement just incase the original sustains damage, including the exhaust manifold. There use to be a plug made for the manifold so that you can delete the egr pipe, but then youll need a tune to turn off the check engine light. Might be able to work the exhaust manifold nut loose enough to swing the egr pipe around for clearance.

i've removed the valve cover on the driver's side on the 2v without messing with the egr. I think i remember that you can pull all the studs off the cover lift a little and slide forward to remove? Maybe i pulled the power steering reservoir off....that egr shit is a pita.

Side note, you posted in the 2v section. I think that is why the info given is not directly translating into your job.
