So I have acquired a 460 to build to put in my '01 GT, I plan to make it a 600+ hp 91 octane bracket car, want to keep it as close to 460ci as possible, but we'll see how that works out for me

I got a C6 with the motor, but am pretty sure I'll end up with a powerglide

will take me a while to accumulate parts to do the swap, get the chassis situated and to build the motor figure about 3yrs, being that I'll be racing the 4.6 in the mean time and I don't have much for extra funds

My goal is to run mid-low 10's no throttle stop or any electronics...

Any guidance/info on parts would be greatly appreciated as I have never torn down and built a motor before.

Wish me luck!

Things changed on this build, picked up an '81 Fairmont Wagon to put the BBF into, the '01 is going to be my wife's racecar, looks like will end up with a very mild build, maybe low 12's at best...trying to post a pic of the new wagon

Your 460 will get that thing moving a whole lot quicker than the previous owners 302 setup.

The last motor in it, was a turbo LS, went 9's making about 800' passes...oh and my 460 is getting a stroker 4.5" crank, and a bore, expecting a 532 when done

LOVE the long roof Fairmont! Buddy of mine had a plain Jane beige 67 Belvedere wagon with a duct taped bench set, column shift. He even bungee corded some shopping bags with empty boxes in the back. Looked like a true "grocery getter". However, the built 440 under the hood would blow the doors off 90% of the cars stupid enough to challenge him. Real sleeper...

I have always had a thing for wagons, just hard to find decent ones for reasonable prices
