Guys that have long tubes(bbk’s or similar)and t56’s or tr6060’s, since the bell house is separate. Can you do a clutch swap w/o pulling the header like I have to with the 3650

Im not 100% sure if what you are asking is a possibility because i dont have the personal experience but im certain others here do. Just hang out a bit and someone will report back.

But yea, longtubes and clutch swaps or just trans drops is a pain in the a$$.

2004 w/new T56 Mag, same Mac Longtubes, Quicktime bellhousing (stock would be same), yes...no problem.

Wanted to add (in case anyone stumbles accross this in the future)...

I previously had a TR3650 w/same Mac long tubes. I removed all of the passenger side header nuts, but left the header in place. I did not raise or lower the engine / was still bolted in place.

When pulling the TR3650, rotate the trans counter clockwise when looking at from tailshaft end. Mine came right out...no issues. For clarity, it did scrape against the collector flange, and we did have to wiggle the header around a bit, but it was very uneventful.

It really depends on the longtube manufacturer, how close they hug the trans casing. Some people go the custom route with the header collectors, slicing them off and welding v-bands onto them for quick disassembly.

Call up D&D Performance. Had a similar situation when I did my Gen2/T-56 Mag swap because I wasn't really interested in the SFI steel bellhousing. They somehow sent me a factory aluminum sandwhich piece that literally looks like an OEM piece. Of course that was years ago, but these guys are among the best specialists out there.

For what it's worth, I know Quicktime has options for people like us but I think they're all the SFI cerified steel kind of bellhousings. Not that there's anything bad about them, it just depends on what you're after.
