I have been going over the details involved with installing an Independent Rear Suspension in my '96. I will also be wanting to run a 335 width tire on the rear afterwards. Is anyone with an IRS in a '94-'98 running 335 width rear tires? Is so what wheel size and backspace did you use? Also were any wheel spacers required? Besides the rear bracket bolt, what other clearance problems are encountered on a '94-'98 model with 335's? Thank you in advance!
I have a 17x9.5 with +38 offset and I run 315. I'm using a 3/4" spacer could go down to a 1/2" easily.
Thanks! Now time to do some maths! LOL Yep! By 3/4" per side. Hence my questioning on the 335's. I'd have no problem with clearance on the SRA that a BFH couldn't solve. Just wondering if the control arms, shocks, or brake lines/ brackets of the IRS also had clearance issues on the earlier SN95's with 335's. And yes the fender lips will definitely be rolled and massaged. Anyone else with and IRS?
At that height it's completely functional. When it was lower, of course it did. It's too much poke IMO, needs to be cambered in flush.
Yeah his wheel and tires stick out too far for me. [email protected]$$ car though. How much clearance does he have on the inside? I didn't know he was in NC also!
