Hey guys, I've been having an issue with my 94' cobra. Original 5.0, stock upper/lower, old autologic chip, SVO Aluminum heads, cammed, BBK Cold air. Runs great for the first 5-10 minutes, pulls really hard starting at 2300-2500 RPM, then when it gets warmer, I only make power around 3000+ RPM and it also feels like some power was lost. It even has a different exhaust tone. Any ideas?

Coil or distributor. My 95 would do that til I swapped out the distributor.

Or IAT or CTS sensor is failed/failing and it's pulling timing. I think you can test them with an ohm meter.

Interesting. I have a street fire coil, and an MSD pro billet distributor. I have no idea how many miles are on them because I didn't install them. The car has 130k on odo. As far as those sensors, I'll see if I can find a way to test them. Thanks for the suggestions so far guys!

That MSD coil will fail you. I promise. They used to make great stuff, and I think their dizzys are still good. But there's a lot of bad reviews of their coils. I had one melt/crack the case and leak transformer oil out of it. A generic auto parts store unit is much better. I learned from experience.

I hear the same stuff about msd, their stuff is really hit or miss. Ive heard with coils its oem or nothing. Still Id check all the sensors first and pull codes before replacing stuff.

Inspected the cap/rotor/dizzy, took some pics. From the looks, the rust/corrosion could definitely be causing issues. What do you guys suggest? Whole new distrubutor?
