i have a 94 gt aode with the following mods: CAI with K&N Filter, BBK equal length shortie headers, BBK o/r h- pipe, flowmaster mufflers, shift kit, 4:10 gears, ford racing plug wires and coil. My car ran a 15.3 at 90 mph and i also weigh 230 pounds. the car shifts at 5k i took the car and had the timing redone thinking it would run better after that but it didnt make a big difference they also installed a adjustable fuel pressure regulator. ill have to check on my 60 ft. time again to be exact but i beleive it was a 2.36 or so. Im thinkin about takin it to a dyno and having an sct eleminator chip installed and custom burnt to help my car? would it be worth it
A chip will probably help. Are you getting traction off the line? What kind of tires? How are you launching?
Do you have any extra weight in the car? Sub box, spare tire,.....I ran a [email protected] with similar mods, minus gears and shift kit. I also weight 185 though, and weight is a very large factor.
I have no problem with traction i cant get my car to spin em until it shifts to second to me that doesnt seem right to me. i launched with my foot on the break and the o/d off i had a spare tire and a small sub that sets in my spare tire prolly weighs 20 pounds if that....My tires are Falken GR Beta FK-451 255/45 17 brand new at the time
hurm with 410s and a shift kit it should be able to spin them easily, unless those tires are super super sticky...? Or I would at least hope/think.
they are not sticky i didnt even do a burnout and still they grabed fine somethin is wrong with my car and im hopin the dyno and a custom chip can help me out?
the car doesnt feel like it revs up in first gear at all, real slow rpm climbing until about 3 k then she comes to life
Do you not want to run premium fuel? If you dont mind I would bump it up to 14* should make a nice diffrence.
Don't check replace it if you haven't done so. Also seafoam is your friend $6 bucks to help clean out the motor.
hummm, too bad about the fuel have u tried bumping it up? I know I could run my with 89 @ 13* timing just fine without any pinging. 10* is pretty damn low, I would at least try 12*.
You should ditch the sub and spare next time you run, it'll help. Mine used to be sluggish off the line with 2.73's but with the 4:10's its a different story, that's really weird. Did yo have any accessories going, a/c, system, heat, headlamps? How aggressive is that shift kit too? I manually shift when I race @ 5,400 rpms. In drive I ran a high 15, "manually" a 15.02 with 2.73's. Were you running 93 octane when you raced it?
