I have a 94 gt vert. Usual mods(gears, smog pump delete, cold air, no cats/no h pipe, subframe connectors, lowered, etc). All mods done by previous owner. The issue is it feels like the heat is CONSTANTLY on full blast even when it is shut off. You feet and legs on a hot day get cooked even with the top down. The ac doesn’t work, and honestly don’t care about that, but that’s not an option to resolve it. It feels like the car itself is throwing off heat from the engine or the exhaust and sending it right into the passenger compartment. Not bad In the winter but almost unbearable some days in the summer. Anyone got a clue?

what kind of headers do you have? I noticed when I swapped headers that the console was warmer and often wondered if long tubed would only make that worse? I installed a heat shield material on the inside of my console when I did my t56 swap, I have also read about people discovering the shifter gasket is torn and letting heat from under the car get trapped in the console

if its not a heating cooling problem
than not enough insulation around that particular area
im surprised your not getting gas vap and exhaust fumes in the car on that side

Heat around the trans tunnel is a common issue with Fox and SN95 cars. Drive long enough on a warm day and you’ll feel the heat coming from the floor.

With both my cars, I pulled the carpet up, did sound insulation and then did foam insulation around the trans tunnel specifically for heat. Made a slight difference but on a hot day I can still feel the heat, especially around the console/parking brake area on my Sn95.

Mine is a convertible so even with top down I feel the heat. Been meaning to poke around with the hvac vac lines a bit to see if I can make a valve I can flip to put the blend doors on floor with the AC on. I think it would be more effective down there vs vent.

another part to check is if you still have the air deflector under the core support as it is not uncommon for them to be either torn off while driving, or someone thought it was a useless piece of plastic and just left it off one time. It is just a stupid piece of plastic, but it helps to suck the heat out of the engine bay from the bottom and it isn't uncommon to hear people have problems running hot while rolling because that part is missing.

You need to confirm if the heat is coming from the heater as hot air, or from the floor as radiant heat.
If it is from the heater, you need to look at the vacuum controls.

If it is radiant heat from your exhaust system, then you need to add insulation.

You also need to confirm you have a seal installed around the shifter or hot outside air will come in there heating the car pretty quick.
