I am sure all his internet friends told him how bulletproof the Mach1 rear end is and that he would be fine launching on DR's

They are slow, from the factory atleast. 240 whopping hp for the 94-95 Cobras. The camaros werent really nothing to brag about either from the same time frame, but they did have a good 35 more hp. When the mustang switched to the 4.6 with a millon variants, I quit keeping track of them. I liked the days when the only difference in the engines of the same family were bore size, cranks, and rods.

true but the 60's muscles cars yes they were fast for there times. but any new v6 family sedans of today are faster then them , all the old muscle cars were only 300hp average out of huge 400 c.i motors, most of them only ran in the 14's 15's, some in the 13's even the "fast" ones like chevelle 454 and shelbys were only in the 13's some dip into the 12's with tire / basic mods. back in 2000 mm&ff took a stock 2000 4.6 2 valve gt which is only around 260hp at the crank a low to mid 14's car high 13's tops stock. and they put it up against a stock 60's gt350 shelby which was rated 271-320hpat the crank, and they ran faster times then the shelby in the 2000 gt stock vs stock they were both only in the 14s lol hell the new toyota camry v6 and nissan altima v6 stock are 260-270hp, all the kias and hyundais and nissan maxima and infinitis are 300-350hp v6's all motor in the past 6 or so years.

But at the end of the day, you're still driving a kia, hyundai, nissan, inifinity, etc. I'd take the 60's muscle car any day....
