One other option I forgot about since it's been so long (20 years or so) since we did it to my cousin's '95 was a set of Comp Cams polymer/plastic, resin/whatever valve covers. They came without the oil filler neck installed I guess so you could place it where you needed to. We had to mark it, drill it, and install it ourselves. It worked and turned out pretty good. I'll try to get a picture of it and send it to you.

Sorry, bro', but cuz changed them out some years back. Says he may still have the Comp ones laying around in the shed somewhere and if he finds them, will take a pic and send. Sorry :(

I have proform 1.7rr and the explorer upper and lower. I had to "message" the stock valve covers in the corners to clear the rockers. The rocker covers are shorter in 94-95 too clear the lower hood line and shorter intake.

Exactly. This creates a compounding problem on the 94 and 95 5.0s. Upgrading the heads with stud mounted rockers forces a valve cover upgrade. Upgraded valve covers force a spacer in the intake. The spacer to the intake forces you to get a new hood with more clearance. ~$1000 head upgrade turned in to a huge project and lots more money.

This headache is why when I upgraded heads on my '94 Cobra, I went with AFR 165's with pedestal rockers and re-used the factory Crain 1.7 rockers. Everything else just fits and I still have a stock hood.

You could always get drop mounts for the motor that free up 3/4”. But then you get a little more vibration.

Or you can get spaces for the k member and then you still get the drop but not the vibration.

I found a lil trick that will help you get a lil more clearance between the valve cover and the alternator but I can't take credit for it. All it takes is a piece of 1 inch flat stock cut about 3 inches long with 2 holes drilled in it about 2 to 2 1/2 inches apart. I found it elsewhere and here's a pic to explain what I'm talking about.. 0708171240_1499639724631.jpg 0708171240_1499639724631.jpg
